Buying Scuba Diving Equipment
In Singapore Singapore for as small of a country as it is has a lot of scuba divers this makes perfect sense as they have so many excellent dive destinations right in their backyard. You would think that Singapore would have a lot of options to buy scuba equipment alas this is not the case, there
were only a few, two of which were wholesalers and the 3rd more of a retailer.
The good news is that they are all located in the same mall which is the Concourse mall located next to the the Park Hotel This is great for the consumer as you can see all the options available for what you are looking for and I am sure that having them all in the same location keeps the prices down as well.
We found Robinson's had the most to offer a Scuba Pro distribute they had a lot of stock and the prices were better than you would get in
Bangkok a couple of things that we likes was that they were even willing to waive the credit card costs if your purchase was large enough and they also had a lot of specials on dive gear that you would want to own.
Oceanic has a outlet here that has a good selection of gear available as well and the prices seemed to be equally good The owner was willing to bring the prices down as well for large purchases They can do service on the spot Something that we always recommend that you cheek before you buy the scuba diving gear to make sure that they have the parts and the expertise locally otherwise you can be with out your equipment for long periods of time.
The 3rd vendor in the concourse mall was Waikiki Dive they seemed to be geared more towards teaching rather than dive gear sales They are a Mares dealer and also handle Suunto computers We found their prices for similar gear was significantly higher than either Robinson's or Oceanic.
