The Philippines has alot of Guesthouses and cheap hotels becuase there are so many they tend not to have hostels in the bigger cities like Manila you can find Budget hotel accommadations galore the same is true for Angeles City

when you get to the smaller islands the hotels tend to be small resorts where you will find the cheaper rooms

Below you will find a list of the different hotels that we foud were the most accommadating to us in the Philippines

Angeles City has been supporting the old Clark Airbase as the base is closed as a US Military post there is a lot of empty rooms here so the prices for what you get are very reasonable. Pictured below is the Ponderosa Hotel Guesthouse which is pretty common for Angeles City it has a pool and a bar resturant there are about 40 rooms all are air con hot water with good size beds and cable TV's this room was about $15 USD a night.

White Sand Beach in Puerto Galara

This is where we had the best time with cheap Hotels and guesthouses available for a god rate. We found one all the way at the end of the beach that didn't even have a name. The guest rooms were over the water practly and all you saw out the room window was beach and oceanviews.

We spent a bit of time in on Cebu we went diving with Underworld divers and we also rented a room from them we were meters from the beach with a good sized room and it had everything that we need this is more typical as a guesthouse rather than a hotel with its family atmosphere and the comaraderie that is associted around great diving the Alona Kew was a good budget hotel resort right accross the lane.
