EcoSea Dive offers a comprehensive PADI Dive Master scuba diving internship training course that will insure that you are a well trained for a PADI scuba dive master job . Scuba Diving Equipment During the internship EcoSea includes the equipment as part of the course as a working Divemaster all shops will require that you have your own equipment some Dive Centers will also require that you rent the dive gear while you are doing the training a good thing to check out if you are shopping around for a Dive Center to do your internship with. EcoSea Offers to all DMT's 25% over our costs for all dive equipment this can give you substantial saving s compared to 20% of of retail.
Visas you can get a business visa on demand at the border if you get a 6 month or longer visa it will be good for multiple entry's. You are also allowed to work in Cambodia, providing that you have a business visa, this is very different from most of the countries in the region like Viet Nam and Thailand, where it is very difficult to get a legal visa that allows you to work in the dive industry. After your training with EcoSea, if we have a DM opening you will be hired. We also offer that if you do the DM with us that if you become an instructor, we will also hire you first if we have an opening. We know that the Divemaster that we turn out are highly qualified and that you understand our system.
What to bring All of your PADI Books, all of your dive gear. Cambodia is very warm you will need mostly tee shirts and polo's and shorts and swimsuits. You should bring a hat with a brim, a soft floppy hat is recommended for the overnight trips, and a hoody sweatshirt or light jacket. Also bring a good attitude Just about everything is available in Cambodia and most of it is less expensive than in the west.
How does a typical internship work.
You'll complete three phases in the PADI Divemaster program:
1. Watermanship and skills assessment
2. Knowledge Development
- Watermanship and stamina
- General diving skills
- Diving physics
- Diving physiology
- Diving skills and environment
- Supervising students in training
- Dive management and control
- Dive planning
- Emergency assistance plan for Diving emergencies in the local area
- Mapping a local open water site
3. Practical Application This involves training activities using various structured training sessions, simulated scenarios and internship sessions with actual PADI programs. These training sessions enable you to gain practical experience as an instructional assistant and a supervisor of open water diving activities, both as a coordinator and as an underwater guide.
You have 8 knowledge tests that you need to pass This will be the first priority that you will be working on as well as building you stamina for the water skills and swim tests . You will also start right away when you are on the boat with the skill circuit which comprises 18 skills many times we will do this at the end of dives, after we have put the customers on the boat. You must demonstrate these 18 skills to your Instructor at demonstration quality. On the mask removal replacement and clearing you will do a demonstration for your instructor.. You will then give the briefing and demonstrate this skill many times during the internship to customers, under your instructors direct supervision.
You will be doing allot more as well. You will be hands on setting up the trip, getting the customers ready for the boat, safety briefings, boat skills, working with instructors training classes, surface watch, you will work with snorkels, everyday will be different and everyday you will learn new skills and meet new friends.

PADI DiveMaster course requirements
During the training you will participate as a assistant for a PADI Open Water Course and you may also assist with a PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba Diver or a PADI Rescue Course on a Overnight Gulf of Thailand Live aboard trip as you will also be responsible to prepare for one of our long range dive trips making sure that all the logistics have been taken care of. you will also work with snorkels one of the most enjoyable experiences for Dive Masters as you work with a instructor to train snorkels how to free dive. For many this is the first step to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver.
We like for DiveMaster Trainees's to spend as much time as possible with us so that when you go out into the field as a DiveMaster you will have confidence that you really know your job, and will be able to say to prospective employers that you have real world experience. We have DiveMaster's come through looking for work with no experience and we are very reluctant to hire them.
