DSD Diving from the shore is also available on all of the islands of Hawaii which offer perfect conditions for you to explore awesome reefs while you are taught the basics to learn how to Scuba Dive. Shore Dives tend to cheap compared to the boat dives as you don't need the boat they can often times be quicker as well.
The water temperature and the weather in general make DSD in Hawaii available all year round. The air temperature is usually around 80 degrees and the water just a little cooler.
All you will need to participate is a bathing suit All Scuba diving equipment and dive gear will be provided to you and you will be taught by a PADI Certified open water instructor if you will be going out into the deeper water.
The maximum that you will go will probably be around 10 meters to 12 meters on your first try dive, it may not sound deep but this is where you will find the most different types of colorful fish as well as all the colorful coral you see as you go deeper you start to lose color starting with red.
The price for DSD Discover Scuba diving varies widely from free in a pool to upwards of $100 or more depending on the quality of the experience Some will be conducted from boats which increases the fun as well as the price unfortunately.
Something that many people don't understand is that your DSD can count towards the PADI Open Water Card as the DSD includes all of the skills that you will learn in Confined Water 1 and Open Water 1.
if you are interested in getting the Scuba Diving Card which is half of the PADI Open Water course you can do that all in one day as well and then you are have way there to having your own PADI card and being able to go to other places and dive with a buddy or continue on to get the PADI Advanced Open water Card which if you are serious about getting dive certified is highly recommended for you added safety and comfort in the water.
