The Federal Hotel is a decent sized Budget hotel in Bangkok offering amenities that you would find in larger hotels but small enough to have a guesthouse feel. we like the pool especially as it is big enough to do laps in and is not over run with kids which is a common enough problem at most budget hotels.
The Federal Hotel is located down the road a fair bit from the Ambassador hotel a Bangkok landmark which means that the taxi drivers know where it is but it makes for a little bit of a walk from Suhkumvitt but the price to comfort level makes this a good location anyway. This Bangkok budget hotel is a favorite of the expats that come in yearly as it is not in your face like the Dynasty or Nana hotels which are in the prime nightlife area of Nana Plaza .
