China's Terra Cotta Warriors in Xian China is right up there with the tomb of King Tut as far as recording the history of a ancient society with the very well preserved army and all of the other things buried with the first emperor of China. they believe right down to the cats and dogs and chickens have all been made into terra cotta figures so that the emperor would have every thing that he needs in the next life and seeking immortality he like king Tut before him have archived it with the works they have left behind. The Xian excavation still goes on and they think that they will be uncovering relics well into this century.

Xian is located well inland and is difficult to get to by land. The new train to Lhasa and cheap flights on regional Chinese airlines are the most expedient way to get there. Once there it is easy to get to the Terra cotta Warriors site which takes about one hour by tour bus or taxi. if you want to save some money they have a city bus that you can get at the Xian train station for 7 yuan a little less than a dollar each way which was the way that we went. I believe the price for a taxi was 460 yuan and they throw in the entrance fee big deal the entrance fee is only 90 yuan.
We wanted to see a major city the great wall the Terra cotta Warriors the Potola Palace in Lhasa Tibet and Beijing We started out in Xiamen flew to Shanghai caught another cheap flight to Xian from Xian we took the Train to Tibet and then flew to Beijing to see the forbidden city and the Great Wall of China as well as the new building for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
