For cheap hotels Asia really shines anywhere in the backpackers section in Saigon are good choices. Guesthouses and Hostels the orchedee Guesthouse in Cambodia and the D& D on Khoa San Road. Beijing we liked as the star ratings are done by the goverment and they are uniform and are not distorted so what it says is what you get for all of the classes for those that are going to the 2008 China Olympics in Beijing and for some of the football will be in Shanghai.
The main features that we like to see in the Asia luxury hotels is allot of art work for this reason we love the Beijing Raffles. For Discount Hotels we like them to be almost 5 star at 3 star prices a great discount hotel will be under $100 and you feel guilty when you pay the bill.
Budget hotels will make up the bulk of the hotels in Asia that you will find in the major Asia city's. Slightly expensive would be the Hard Rock hotel in Pattaya this is just a down right fun place to stay with lots of stuff to do. For Cheap hotels we want air con, hot water, TV fridge, large bed and have a pool these are hard to find, but they are out there Angeles City in the Philippines Pattaya Thailand and surprisingly in Bagon Myanmar- Burma
